Gas guzzling Horsepower....

If you love horsepower, chrome, and custom paint jobs get your self out to a local car show soon. With the nice weather comes the parade of custom, stock and modified collectors vehicles at these events. I am lucky in that every Tuesday evening the local mall(Hazelden) is the location of a ride night. The cars roll in for display for several hours while spectators and owners mingle and chat. I like to wander around and shoot photos of these shiny vehicles, I love the older Camaro's. The engines always fascinate me with how clean and pristine they are. Here are few of my recent images using my D700 and 17-35mm as well as my 55mm macro. Enjoy!

Wilderness Tours 35th Anniversary Staff Reunion

This past weekend Wilderness Tours celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a staff reunion party. My family and I attended for the Saturdays festivities which included some gentle rafting on the lower channel for families with small children. The kids had a blast, it was great to get together with so many old friends and watch as our own children all mixed together for fun and adventure. It brought back memories of myself arriving at Wilderness Tours for the first time and meeting a pile of new faces that would quickly become lifetime friends. I was able to shoot some fun shots of the kids on the river as well as the "older kids" enjoying the fun on Rafters deck at night. As usual Wilderness Tours put on a fantastic time for all who came out. Kudos to Joe, Joanne and all the hardworking folks at WT. Here are a few shot to enjoy, the rest may be viewed here.

Amazing Nigerian Dance group...

I was out for a walk at lunch and headed down the Sparks St. mall in Ottawa, I was pleasantly rewarded with the opportunity to watch and listen to a very talented group of dancers, musicians, and singers from Nigeria. They were performing here in Ottawa for a few days, they performed on Sparks St for 2 consecutive days at the noon hour. The music and dance was fantastic. Shot using my D700 and both my 17-35 and 80-200. More images here.

Soccer season winds down...

With the close of the school year my daughter is also winding up her first soccer season. She learned a lot about the game and her skills progressed as the games went by. It was a fantastic experience to watch her score her first goal. The kids on her team were a fun bunch and the coaches helped keep things fun. A great time for all!
A few photos here.
